Winemaking: after destemming, berries are crushed, and then put into thermoregulated stainless steel vats for maceration. After alcoholic fermentation has started, after a few days, juice is separated from solid matters. Then, wine is matured on lees where it will stabilize and rest. The aim is not to use any barrel, in order to preserve every varietal aroma.
Vegan?: yes
Intense aromas of small ripe red and blackberries dominate the nose, with supple tannings and a mouthwatering acidity on the palate. Fruity flavours dominate, with a hint of funk for this natural wine classic.
About the producer: A family run winery started by Louis Tramier in 1842, they produce a number of different well known labels. Roncier itself first appeared in the 1960s and has since then developed a reputation not only for high and consistent quality, but excellent value too.
