Euro Trip
Our selection will make you feel like you are on holiday! We selected the best reds, white, orange, and sparkling from our best-sellers of Europe, now you sit down and enjoy the view. You're welcome.
- Reds:
Cantalici, Petali Rosso, Tuscany, Italy - Sangiovese.
Carlo and Daniele are the latest generation of the Cantalici family to run their estate in Castagnoli in the heart of Tuscany. Ruby coloured with a rich aroma of morello cherry and subtle spice leading to a long, satisfying savoury finish.
Xavier Vignon, Le Petit Xavier, Rhône, France - Syrah, Grenache.
Fruit, flowers, spices. Fun above all. The nose offers notes of pepper, red fruits, followed by floral notes including violets. In the mouth the wine is delicious, fresh and mineral; a nice bright acidity and a little tannin make this a great wine to pair with a Sunday roast.
- Sparkling:
Quinta do Montalto, Vinha da Malhada, Lisbon, Portugal - Fernao Pires, Arinto and Olho de Lebre.
The elegant aroma of the wine is filled with floral shades and notes of citrus and white fruits. Fresh, soft, and pleasant, with bright, crisp acidity, mineral and citrus hues, and a refreshing aftertaste of medium length.
- White:
Bodegas Ontañón, Akemi, Rioja, Spain - Viura (Macabeo).
You'll find it on the menu at Kiro in Logroño where Felix makes his name. The wine is round, creamy and fleshy but still with a lively acidity, this is no vanilla bomb. The tropical and stone fruit come first followed by the signature texture and feel. Get the sushi out!
- Orange:
Cascina Zerbetta, Quattrocent, Monteferrato, Piemonte, Italy - Sauvignon Blanc and Muller Thurgau.
Grapes you might associate more with France and Germany. Here, given an Italian twist in the climate of Piedmont, the wine is taken beyond the under-ripe, green and herbaceous stage, and becomes a Sauvignon of much more presence. A short skin maceration adds depth and texture and the dash of Muller gives things a fresh aromatic lift.
- Rose:
Entre Vinyes, Oniric, Penedes, Spain - Grenache and Trepat.
Fantastic rose wine, made with a little skin contact for 3 hours in stainless steel. Then, it's kept on the lees for 6 months to give it more structure and body. A pale, unfiltered rose - bring crisp and fresh zesty notes of wild strawberries and a subtle florality -this one is perfect in the sun.
