Cahors Le Combal is the typically inky black black wine of Cahors. The nose is reminiscent of prunes and liquorice, which is reflected on the palate with full fruit and a creamy touch from the subtle oak ageing. Delicious.
About the producer: Created in 1999, the Domaine Cosse Maisonneuve is the result of the association of two talented oenologists and winemakers: Matthieu Cosse and Catherine Maisonneuve. Both took over a 5 hectares estate in Prayssac near Cahors which was planted with old vines of Malbec (also known under the name of 'Cot') and started making wines, well determined to produce genuine wines. They work biodynamically and the wines have a genuine sense of place and style that is lost in so many of the wines from the region.
