A pure and tightly wound wine showing the muscle and intensity of the low yielding Birdwood site, and the fragile acid line synonymous with fine, late ripening and deeply cool Piccadilly Valley Chardonnay. A shy and somewhat restrained nose exuding white flowers, green nectarine characters, and subtle hints of nougat and gingery wood spice. On the palate, a bedrock of chalky minerality supports a core of intense stone fruit, framing its lingering acidity.
About the producer: “McLaren Vale is our heartland,” and it is where Bernice Ong and Julian Forwood found their 11-hectare vineyard called The Chase atop the Onkaparinga Gorge. Between them they have thirty-five years of experience in wine & hospitality and they have a knack for tracking down the best grapes they can lay their hands on. They only created Ministry of Clouds in 2013 and in such a short space of time their poised, elegant wines have won a legion of fans.
